The CEMS Master in International Management (MIM) is a strategic global alliance of leading business schools, multinational companies and non-governmental organisations coming together to offer a unique pre-experience master’s programme.
As a proud member of this alliance, NUS Business School provides our students exceptional international opportunities. This highly-ranked, global, one-year, pre-experience MIM programme emphasises and develops management and leadership competencies with an emphasis on internationalism and responsible leadership.
*Up to 3 Level-5000 courses (maximum of 12 Units) taken at the CEMS host schools can be counted towards the fulfillment of your MSc in Management requirement. At NUS, the workload of each course is expressed in terms of units, The European equivalent of workload representation is ECTS credits. A typical course consists of 4 Units (or 6 ECTS), representing about 10 hours of work per week.
Through CEMS, you’ll develop the global perspective, cross-cultural competencies, and international connections that leading employers value. Consistently ranked among the top management programs worldwide, the CEMS qualification enhances your NUS MIM degree with recognized excellence in international business education.
You are required to spend one term each at two additional CEMS partner schools. Destinations for the terms abroad will depend on availability. Location and sequence preferences will be taken into consideration, but those with better academic standing (including good GMAT scores) may stand a higher chance of getting their preferred placement.
All CEMS MIM students graduate with competence in three languages, one of which must be English (Language 1). The second and third language can be any language. Please click here for the proficiency requirements of Language 2 and 3.
You will begin the CEMS MIM term with a mandatory intensive one-week Block Seminar that is an ideal start to the programme as it facilitates discussion of management topics from different cultural and academic perspectives.
You will have to successfully complete exclusive CEMS courses such as Global Strategy, Global Leadership and Global Citizenship. The Global Citizenship Seminar is a two-day course that brings together representatives from corporate and / or social partners, professors and students to have the opportunity to engage with the UN Sustainable Development Goals through experiential learning.
These shorter seminars provide training on a wide variety of essential and practical skills for an effective professional career. They are held throughout the two terms and are often in cooperation with corporate organisations.
Adopting a consultancy-like approach, you will work in small teams and apply your skills and knowledge to solve a real business problem for an international organisation. Your student team will work independently and will be supervised and evaluated by both your faculty advisor and the corporate representatives. The Business Project will amount to about half of Semester 2’s workload.
The objective of this internship is to turn academic and theoretical knowledge into a professional and multi-cultural experience. Your internship can take place at a CEMS Corporate Partner, an international company, or a non-profit organisation, as long as the company operates in an international environment, and your work responsibilities correspond to that of a new graduate hire. You are responsible for finding your own internship and getting all official documents required for employment.
As part of the CEMS network, you will have the opportunity to interact with a truly international team, benefiting from the great diversity of your peers, our professors, and our alumni.
